Meet St. George's Staff

The Rev. Paige Michele Blair, Rector

I began as Rector of St. George's in September 2000. My greatest joy in ministry as a priest is walking with others who are living out their baptismal ministries with joy and enthusiasm. I am honored and humbled to be able to watch from a front row seat as God does amazing things in people's lives, during hard times and in times of rejoicing.

I enjoy writing icons - view some of my icons here.

The Rev. Steve Godfrey  Associate Rector

When I first came to St. George's in the fall of 2004 as interim assistant for education and family ministries, I already knew this to be one of the most energetic and hopeful congregations in New England and I was truly excited to be here. I could not have been more excited to be called back to St. George's in 2006 as associate rector for spiritual formation and family ministries. It is a tremendous opportunity and real blessing to be partnering in ministry with so many talented and committed Christians of all ages, joining together to celebrate God's love and support one another in faithful living

The Rev. Sudie Blanchard, Deacon

When I arrived in Maine nearly six years ago to work at the York Public Library, I felt instantly drawn to St. George's Church and its welcoming congregation. It didn't take long for this place to feel like "home" to my husband, Peter, and I. It was here that I was able to clearly hear God calling me to ordained ministry, and for that I will always be grateful. The people of St. George's have helped me live into and realize that call. I am thrilled that the Bishop has assigned me to St. George's as I begin ministry here as Deacon.

The Rev. Aaron Perkins, Deacon

I'm originally from this part of Maine and have made St. George's my home for 10 years. It's very exciting to be assigned to my home parish as Deacon and to have the privilege of serving with some truly extraordinary people. St. George's is alive and growing and I'm thrilled to be able to help support the very important ministries happening both inside and outside the parish.

Lorrie Whittaker, Parish Administrator of St. George's Episcopal Church

St. George's has given me so much-the chance to use my talents in the service of others, the chance to make a difference in practical ways and, best of all, wonderful people to work with, both those on staff with me and the parishioners here.
